I'm currently prepping for the Rewatch Party -- I still have one last community I wanna promote it in before the day comes! I'm really looking forward to it. I've only ever watched the show all the way through the one time, so I get the treat of watching it in another language! I watched it first with the English dub, so I'll be watching it with the original dub and subtitles for the first time.

In the meantime, I've been thinking about writing this one Chilshi fic I've had in my head for ages now. It's something short -- kind of a character study with regards to Chilchuck's eating habits.

I'm thinking about how i learned about dungeon meshi before it got a huge word-of-mouth boom, and how new fans might be coming in with a different set of expectations than I did because of it.

idk it's different when you're already told "this is a masterpiece" before anything else instead of reading it and seeing it become a masterpiece before your eyes

Ah, I'm a little jealous of those who read the manga before the anime came out! I definitely know what you mean. I've been in a few fandoms and known a few things "before it was cool" (MILGRAM being a major one -- I was in the fandom since the very beginning, and it only blew up near the end of the second round of three), and it was very different watching the project bloom in front of me as a masterpiece to joining in late, I imagine!

I finished the manga a few days ago. And now it seems I am conveniently ready to watch the anime as the watch party begins, so that is pretty neat!
