Dungeon Meshi

Welcome to the Dunmeshi Comm Rewatch Party!

This time, we'll be watching episodes 5 to 14, which covers 2 arcs: Fourth Floor (5-10 & 14) and Red Dragon Arc (10-13). The watching period will last until January 27th, but this post will remain open indefinitely!

When you're able to watch the episodes, share what you thought in the comments! Talk what the episodes made you think about, whether it's a plot point, minor detail, character moment you enjoyed, or anything else. You can share all your thoughts for all the episodes at once, or you can comment once for each episode as you go. Whatever suits you! And feel free to chat with other users!

Spoiler policy: For rewatch party posts, please put all spoilers for future episodes or the manga under a cut, with a clear warning. Some people may be experiencing the series for the first time, so please be courteous!

Hello! In order to celebrate my official opening of the community, this community will be hosting a (re)watch party! Anyone can join, whether they've seen Dungeon Meshi before or this will be their first time experiencing the series.

Since I'm sure nobody wants to go through the hassle of finding a time that works for every single person, I will be organizing it so that everybody can watch the series at their own pace, within a set timeframe. I will make a post for each "watch session", explaining what we're watching and until what day, and people can share their reactions to the episodes in the comments! Coffee Social Sunday posts will also contain a reminder, and a link to the latest watch party post.

Schedule

I chose to break up the episodes loosely by arc. (Some episodes belong to two arcs, and some arcs are split up, which is why I use 'loosely'.) I then broke these arcs up into weeks. All "sessions" are 1-2 weeks long, begin on a Monday, and end on a Sunday!

January 6 -> January 13 (episodes 1-4, 4 total): Introduction Arc (1), Second Floor Arc (1-3), Third Floor Arc (4)

January 14 -> January 27 (episodes 5-14, 10 total): Fourth Floor Arc (5-10 & 14), Red Dragon Arc (10-13)

January 28 -> February 10 (episodes 15-24, 10 total): Fifth Floor Arc (15-17), Sixth Floor Arc (18-24)

Spoiler Policy

This is not the community's normal spoiler policy, but I am hoping that this event may interest newcomers who haven't had a chance to watch the show yet! So, I will ask that no manga spoilers be posted in the comments of the watch party posts, unless it is under a cut with a warning.

Where To Watch?

Dungeon Meshi is a Netflix Original, which means, legally speaking, you can watch it all there!

If anybody does not have a Netflix subscription, though, and is down to sail the high sea (*wink wink*), just comment below. I'll send you a private message.

This is a community for fans of Dungeon Meshi fans of all kinds to share their fanworks, discuss the series with fellow fans, and overall share the joy the series brings you!

• Provide source links for fanworks you didn't create, and only repost the work of creators you know for certain are okay with it. (If you're unsure, ask them!)
• Spoilers for anime-onlys, sexual content, and triggering material should go under a cut, and be warned for appropriately. Please see this post for a list of common triggers
• Due to the mod's personal triggers and subsequent inability to moderate this material, content which graphically depicts incest, minor/adult relationships, and bestiality in a manner intended to be erotic or gratifying cannot be posted directly to the community. You may link to somewhere off-community containing this content, but, per the previous rule, a warning must be given.

More detailed guidelines can be found on our community's profile page! All and all, just post courteously and we should be all good! Posts of any length or fanwork type are welcome, so long as they relate to Dungeon Meshi.
